Fraudulent Email Alert
We want you to be aware that a fraudulent email is being sent in an attempt to gather your confidential information. This type of fraud is known as phishing an attempt to gather sensitive information by masquerading as a request from an official or trustworthy person in an electronic message. An example of this email is below.
Our Bank, as any legitimate business, would never email our customers and ask for your personal or confidential information. The link in the email directs the user to a website outside of the United States, which asks the user to enter account number, user name, password, PIN, and other confidential information. A screen shot of one of the phishing websites follows below.
Also, any email that would be sent from State Bank & Trust Co. would be signed by an officer of the Bank, not just a persons title.
You should delete this email if you receive it do not reply or click on the link.
Please contact your branch if you have any questions.
Thank you, Kent Savage Senior Vice President / Senior Information Systems Officer State Bank & Trust Company
